START WITH WHERE YOU GO
I would choose the journey
before choosing the station.
When a buyer asks me for a condo near MRT, LRT or Monorail in Kuala Lumpur, I want to know where they actually travel. A station nearby is useful. A convenient route to work, dinner and home is what makes it worth having.
My shortlist here is Pavilion Damansara Heights, SWNK Houze and Times Square 2. All three bring shopping into the picture, but they do not offer the same train connection. Pavilion is the MRT-led choice; SWNK centres on Hang Tuah’s LRT and Monorail; Times Square 2 brings Imbi Monorail and proposed mall links into the comparison.
Pusat Bandar Damansara serves the MRT Kajang Line. Hang Tuah gives you LRT and Monorail options, while Imbi serves the Monorail. Compare where each line takes you and whether your usual journey needs a transfer.
THREE DIFFERENT STARTING POINTS
Where would I start?
Pavilion
Damansara Heights
A strong starting point if you want the MRT, a mall and a more relaxed residential setting together.
Pusat Bandar Damansara →LRT + MONORAILSWNK Houze
at BBCC
For buyers who like LaLaport and want a completed home around the Hang Tuah transit hub.
Hang Tuah →MONORAIL-LED ACCESSTimes Square 2
at Jalan Imbi
For buyers drawn to the Imbi shopping district who can plan around the development’s delivery.
Imbi →01 · PAVILION DAMANSARA HEIGHTS
MRT access with a different
pace of city living.
Pavilion Damansara Heights is my first starting point here for a buyer who specifically wants MRT access. The development connects to Pusat Bandar Damansara station on the Kajang Line, which also serves Bukit Bintang and TRX.
That makes the address worth considering even if your working day is in the city centre. You can keep the mall and train close to home without choosing a residence in the middle of Bukit Bintang.
For your own stay, choose the home first: how many bedrooms you need, the layout you like and when you want to move. Phase 1 gives you completed options; Phase 2 offers a future move. The walk from your particular tower to the station is part of that choice.
My own-stay angle: the train is useful, but the appeal is also what happens after work. Shopping and dinner can fit around the journey home instead of becoming another drive.
Explore Pavilion Damansara Heights →02 · SWNK HOUZE, BBCC
LaLaport beside you.
Hang Tuah in the picture.

SWNK Houze suits a different routine. It is a completed project within BBCC, with LaLaport and the Hang Tuah transit hub forming part of its everyday appeal.
Hang Tuah serves the Ampang and Sri Petaling LRT lines as well as the Monorail. That gives buyers several travel directions to consider. It does not mean the MRT platform is in the same station.
If your destination is on the Kajang Line, compare the actual connection before deciding. Merdeka MRT is separate; another option is an LRT journey to Plaza Rakyat and its connection to Merdeka. The best choice depends on where you are going and the walking route you prefer.
For an investor, I would think about the person using the apartment: someone commuting daily, or a guest who values shopping and easy city outings. The furnishing and management still need to match that audience.

For the buyer who wants
the Imbi side of the city.

Times Square 2 is worth comparing if Berjaya Times Square and the Imbi area already fit the way you spend your time. Imbi Monorail is the key rail reference here.
The development includes planned bridge connections to Berjaya Times Square and BBCC. For a future move, those links could make shopping and station access easier. Ask which bridges will be open at handover and how you would reach the station in the meantime.
For travel farther across KL, check the transfer as carefully as the first station. Monorail access can be useful for Bukit Bintang, but it is a different journey from boarding the Kajang MRT Line at Pavilion Damansara Heights.
MAKE THE COMPARISON PERSONAL
Which journey will you
actually repeat every week?
Working around TRX?
Start by comparing a same-line MRT journey from Pusat Bandar Damansara with the connections needed from Hang Tuah or Imbi. Then include the walk from the arrival station to your office.
Spending time in BBCC?
SWNK puts the BBCC setting at the centre of the choice. Times Square 2 offers a different starting point around Imbi. Walk the area at the hours you would normally use it.
Buying for tenants?
A convenient station helps when it serves their routine. Match that with the right layout, furnishing and rent. Rail access alone does not guarantee occupancy or a higher return.
ONE USEFUL VIEWING TEST
Walk from the lobby,
not from the project sign.
The route starts at the residential entrance you will use. Include lifts, road crossings, covered sections and station access. If the connection passes through a mall, check the route outside shopping hours too.
For a couple, compare both commutes. For a family, add school runs and groceries. A home can reduce your dependence on the car without replacing every trip you make.
Then put the monthly ownership costs beside the convenience. Our condo maintenance fee comparison helps you see what different homes cost to keep, beyond the purchase price.
COMMON QUESTIONS
A few things buyers ask.
Which train lines serve these three projects?
Pavilion Damansara Heights connects to Pusat Bandar Damansara on the MRT Kajang Line. SWNK Houze is beside the Hang Tuah hub for LRT and Monorail, while Times Square 2 is centred on Imbi Monorail access.
Are Hang Tuah and Merdeka the same station?
No. Hang Tuah serves LRT and Monorail. Merdeka serves the MRT Kajang Line and connects to Plaza Rakyat LRT. Allow for the separate connection rather than assuming one shared platform area.
Which option can I inspect as a completed home?
SWNK Houze and Pavilion Damansara Heights Phase 1 are the completed choices in this shortlist. Ask about actual unit availability and visit the residential route to the station.
Does being near rail make a condo a good investment?
It can make the apartment useful to a wider range of people, but the purchase price, rental demand, layout, furnishing and running costs still decide whether the investment works for you.
